Finally living up to my word!

So last night I was at Jenna's and she asked me about my blog. I instantly felt a tinge of guilt for being a huge liar regarding my blog. Michelle...I am finally going to do it! I have honestly avoided coming on because I knew I would feel the need to write my 7 (or it may be less when I'm done) random things about myself. So as promised, and then I will continue writing as normal here they are:
1. I honestly can not believe there are 7 things about myself that everyone doesn't already know, or that I find insanely mundane and boring. Not to sound self-deprocating because being the know it all that I am I am pretty confident and secure with myself...I just feel like an open book so don't really know where to start.
2. My Jewish roots have given me an intense joy in setting people up on dates. I have mellowed out...but if you ask Jeff's brother he will disagree on that last statement.
3. I long to be creative in so many ways, but my joy in creativity lies solely in appreciating it.
4. I really want to be a 1950's housewife that cooks amazing meals, gossips with her neighbors, makes her own clothes, and raises perfect children.
5. I voted for Obama out of fear of my husband's wrath...and also most of my friends. Honestly I think he is an amazing man I truly do, and I do agree that he will be a great leader and he has the best of our country in his mind...but I am a small government kind of person. I believe in local and state's rights...not giving everything to the federal government. So basically this is typical of a Republican...but Republicans have decided to believe in foreign war and the patriot act instead of remembering what their party is supposed to stand for. So there wasn't a chance in hell I was going to vote for another term of that! I really wanted to do a write in for Ron Paul...but unfortunately my convictions of being a good wife came above those of my patriotism. haha. I don't actually believe that is unfortunate at all. I love Jeff!
6. I think that I have the potential to be a great cook and I really do love cooking meals, but I am too lazy and cheap to actually put time into it. I hate cleaning dishes more than life itself (about half as bad as putting away laundry...please refer to number 4 and why it can never actually come to fruition). Plus I am so cheap to have my kitchen (which although huge has no storage space) well stocked is way too expensive for someone as tight as me.
7. Totally random but I'm trying to find random things by looking around my room...I have two amazing dogs that live with me, and then two amazing dogs that their dad has full custody of. haha I sound like a crazy dog person. But I raised two of the best boxers you have ever met and I love them so much and am so sad never to see them because they live in Texas. pshhh.

Okay that is about as much random babbling of this list.
I will post some pictures and real blogs soon!

San Diego

So I totally don't have time right now to post my pictures from our trip to Sea World (because yes I'm posting this from work). But I will leave you with this one treasure:

Jeff Turns 30

So Jeff turned 30 on September 11th.
Although he seemed a little meloncholy about it I was more than a little jealous. I seriously can't wait for my 30s. Anyone who was married young or even worse divorced young may understand me. When I tell you that I've been married before saying "Oh wow! You're so young!" is by no means a compliment. It's an insult. So, I look forward to being in my thirties so that when I say that people will just look at me and be like "oh yah, well that happens." because really...I dont' need commentary on the age I was when I got married...I obviously know better than anyone how that turned out. haha I just ranted. sorry.
Anway we had just a mellow gathering at our house. Kathy and I found a wheelchair that has now become a staple of our outdoor sitting area, and which is actually incredibly comfortable. Sorry to the old man who can no longer use it.
We also this month rekindled the joy of Santiago Oaks Park. I'm not a fan of big parks with lots of people and yelling and what not...and you know KIDS. Just kidding. But anyway I really enjoy being out in nature and enjoying what our world would have looked like before concrete and construction. So a couple weeks ago we took a nice hike, and can't wait to go on more once it cools down a little.

Disneyland

So Jeff's mom got us Disneyland passes for our birthdays, and we finally got to partake!
We went last Friday night with the Hansons. It was so nice to finally get to hang out with them again, and of course push through obnixious crowds at disneyland!

So although I did plan on writing every week, I've resigned to every other week since I really get at a loss of what to write about unless I have pictures to accompany my entry. Last Thursday night I got a phone call around 5 from Jeff telling me, "Oh, I think you may need to cancel your plans tonight because I won't be able to watch Simon...I think I'm going to start my Master's degree." haha oh Jeff. Although classes had started the week before he was able to get the class he wanted and start right away. It amazes me because I am so far from being spontaneous that the fact that he thrives off of this stuff is insane to me.
So that being said, Simon and I have had some quality time together this month so far! Today is actually Jeff's 30th birthday. Happy 9/11 Jeff! He is playing a show at the prospector...so if you're around you should go. I unfortunately will not get to see him at all on this monumental day. I think he prefers to have his quarter life crisis sans wife.
So after flaking on her Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday I finally got to hang out with Lacy on Saturday night...and now instead of discussing heartbreak and English class our conversation strays more towards baby (and okay a little bit of heartbreak reminiscence). Well she told me the joy of frozen fruit. So Lacy...I have you to thank for this amazing site:

Yes it honestly looks like he ate raw meat... So that was pretty much an amazing evening.

We have also found a renewed joy in riding bikes. It's been so nice to be able to ride around together again and have Simon absolutely love it. and yes...please note his new top two teeth. So here is a random night at the circle enjoying a picnic dinner:I know people would normally have pictures like this and say "I love summer" but guess what? I hate summer...I love fall! That's the best hang out weather by far! haha

Simon's August

So this month has been one of my favorites with Simon. He is truly growing so fast and learning so much. It's so precious to see him explore, and I've learned that I'm the much more lienent parent! I do indeed give him pine needles to play with until Jeff doth protest. haha oh well. He discovered mud the other day which was way too fun:

So after our bath we played with dad through the glass, and then figured out how to play tug of war with Grover...which is now a nightly ritual

So this Sunday Jeff spent the day getting our bikes ready for our first bike ride with Simon. It was pretty much the cutest thing ever. The helmet was his arch enemy until we started moving, and then he seemed to forget about it. We packed a dinner and went and ate in the circle...

Round 2

So I swear I really am going to start trying to get better at this and be a more active "blogger." I think I let so much time go between doing posts that I totally dont' know where to start. So I will try to start posting once a week to ensure I have my topics covered!

We had an amazing summer with our little booshi and can barely believe he's going to be one soon! The big arguement in our home is what the theme of his birthday party will be, and I think we are settling on the Southern Huck Finn theme. But we will see if that is still the case next week. Ralph made this photo for us...so we may just make an entire party around this picture:

So I will give you a brief view of our summer through photos (I'm totally going to forget so much, but oh well)

May - We actually took our first over-night experience with Simon, and although the first night sleep wasn't something he really enjoyed, it got much better the second night (mostly because Jeff's parents were there and watched him for us!).

We went to Santa Barbara to go to a wedding of two of the most amazing people I have ever met.

Oh...and Jeff officiated the wedding. So if you are in need of marriage...he can preform services for you.

So prior to our trip Suzanne's friends (and now ours too - we stole them) came out from Nashville and stayed in the back house. They are like our college aged children and we miss them dearly. Shannon is going to be our southern consultant for Simon's birthday party...Okay now on to June!
Jeff finished work and got 5 weeks off which was amazing (for him...for me I got a huge jealousy complex - if that's even a complex?). The first week of his vacation we went up to Hume Lake with my family. So here is that:

We went paintballing for father's day...

Overall the week was amazing and Simon had so much fun it is ridiculous. We already have the cabin booked for next summer!

July -

We had our first camping trip which was fun and dirty. The Teranishi's and Hanson's joined us in big bear and we enjoyed some paddle boats, hikes, and dust.
Here is Simon and his bff Miles, and the girl he adores emma....(shadlie please do not notice how dirty your walker is...I cleaned it!)

Okay here we go

So I've finally been talked into starting a blog. I'm not quite sure what is actually interesting enough to write about on these things, but I will try to do my best to bore you with my ramblings. Since I'm not going to do a catch-up I will just post some pictures to get you all caught up with my life until now. Jeff has written a full recollection of Simon's labor, and if I ever have the energy to re-live that moment I will write it down. But anyway...enjoy the pictures and I will try to write whenever I think about it.
